OPEN MGSA MEETING AT TRANSFER PIZZERIA & CAFE
ON TUESDAY MAY 11TH FROM 6PM TO 8PM

First off, thanks to all of you who participated in our third and greatest winter season! We also enjoyed having many of you at the awesome awards ceremony Transfer Pizzeria & Cafe!

Beginning this summer, we have a couple of changes:

  1. All checks must be made out to “Milwaukee Gay Soccer TEAM”. (This may be for this summer only.)
  2. Team captains are required to collect all fees from all players and have a fully completed waiver that includes all players that are registered for their team. The fees are to be turned in as one lump sum with your completed waiver prior to the deadline. The deadline for this summer is May 11th.

Also on May 11th:

…we will be having an MGSA meeting. As always, all individuals interested in helping promote, organize, and operate the MGSA are welcome to attend. Please e-mail us any discussion items prior to the meeting. If you cannot attend but are still interested helping out, please let us know.

If you have questions or concerns about anything MGSA related at any time, please let us know.

Thank you all for being a part of the MGSA. We are looking forward to seeing you on the field this summer!

follow, friend and stalk us!

We here at the MGSA are always trying to improve our league. Part of that is continually finding better ways to keep people informed. So in the spirit of living in the “social media” world, we’ve dusted off our old facebook fan page, as well as started up a brand new twitter account. So if you have accounts on either of those social networks, feel free to add us!

You can also subscribe to this site, milwaukeegaysoccer.org, by all sorts of other ways by clicking here. Note that we’re also testing out ways to cross post through all these sites without “doubling up” the messages… so be patient while we figure out the best methods to utilize our social profiles :)

FINAL WINTER 2010 GAMES THIS FRIDAY!

Here is a link to the current standings.

We are near the bottom of the page.

The max points for a team for a game is 6 points for a win, 1 point each goal for the first 3 goals and 2 point for a shutout for a total of 11 possible points.

Orange crush is one game ahead of the other four teams because of their double header last week.

For the Totties to tie up with Orange Crush for first place, they would have to get exactly 9 points (a win + 3 goals) for a total of 63 points. If the Totties have a shut out with at least 2 goals, however, they would surpass Orange crush and win first place for the season. If the latter is the case and their are no other tiebreakers to contend with a scrimmage game will be held at 8pm in lieu of a tiebreaker (any player from any team can join in).

No other team is in the running for first or second place.

Third place is a toss up between Pint and Blue Light with another possible tie.

Fourth place is a toss up between Team Highlander and Blue Light with a possible tie there as well but all Blue Light needs is two goals to put it out of thier reach.

However, Team Highlander could very well make this Friday the upset of the season, if they bring their “A” game and have a shutout victory against Blue Light taking Blue Light out of contention for third and sending them packing all the way to the bottom.

See page 7 of the following link for tiebreaker rules.

We will see how this all pans out but above all please remember to be friendly and play safe.

I am not playing this Friday :( as I will be at Transfer Cafe getting the awards ceremony set up. :)

Winter 2010 Indoor Rules Reminder

To all Winter 2010 players:
We wanted to check in and make sure that we are all on the same page in regards to the MGSA soccer rules and regulations.  We want to make sure that everyone who plays soccer with us is having a blast and staying safe and while we know that some people are more competitive than others we do want everyone to have fun.  Please review the rules below and send them out to the players on your team.

CO-ED Rule:In adult co-ed leagues there must be a minimum of two people of each gender on the field at all times. If a team is unable to field ateam with two people of each gender, then they must forfeit the game with a 3-0 loss.  In the case:  a team has only two females and one of the females is penalized for a team penalty, the penalty must be served by a male player that is on the field at that time.

Rule 9 Fouls and Misconduct

Send-off Penalties:

At the discretion of the referee, a red card may be shown for intentionally charging the goalkeeper while the latter is in fullpossession of the ball, spitting on an opponent or referee, physically contacting a game official, leaving the box to engage in misconduct or confrontation, or other incidents of unseemly behavior. In addition, a player shall be sent off for violentconduct, serious foul play and/or foul/abusive language. The game shall not be restarted until the player that was sent offhas left the bench area.

A teammate of the player that was sent off shall serve a full five minute penalty and the opposing team shall be awarded a power play (regardless of how many goals the opposing teams scores).

Fighting and serious foul play:

1. Fighting will result in an automatic 5-minute penalty and a red card expulsion from the current game.

2. The players involved will automatically receive a TWO-WEEK SUSPENSION. The suspension also includes other

leagues the player may be involved in. The suspensions will also carry over to the following season.

3. A report will be filed with the management of the complex immediately after the game.

4. If management deems it necessary, the player may be suspended for an indefinite amount of time. No refunds

will be given if a player is suspended from the indoor soccer leagues.

5. Any red card offenders will automatically be suspended for the following week of play.  In addition there will be a discussion with someone from the MGSA board, the team captain of the person that was carded as well as the person that obtained the red card.

We require that you be familiarize yourself with the entire indoor rules and pay close attention the the full “Rule 9″ posted at the following link http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0009/4519/Indoor_Rules_Full_-_revised_9.09.pdf

Also, please try to have your team arrive 30 minutes prior to your game so that you can complete any paperwork and/or visit with captains and MGSA administrators to resolve any pre-game issues.

If you do not have the proper number of registersed co-ed players who have completed all paper when the game is scheduled to start your team will forfiet.

Thanks for your cooperation.  As always if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask. We look forward to seeing you on Friday!!!!  Please note we will be going out to Woody’s after the games this week.  Please encourge your team to join us as we would like to say thank you to our sponsors.
